Sizzling Summer

We are excited to launch our new Nursery topic, "Sizzling Summer!" Over the next 7 weeks, we will explore:

• Weeks 1–3: Spring to Summer, summer clothing, and summer activities

• Weeks 4–5: Summer around the world and our summer holidays

• Weeks 6–7: The beach and transitioning to our next steps

📚 Key Books

Our core text is "Lucy & Tom at the Seaside" by Shirley Hughes. We will also read seasonal favorites like Maisy at the Beach, Come On, Rain!, and The Sandcastle That Lola Built.

🔢 Maths Focus

• Weeks 1–3: Mastering numbers 1–5

• Weeks 4–5: Solving number problems up to 5

• Weeks 6–7: Consolidating our learning

Ordering number to 5

This week the children have been working on ordering numbers to 5. Some children were challenged to order numbers to 10.

Sports Day 

What an absolutely fantastic day we had at our Nursery Sports Day! Our little athletes brought so much energy, giggles, and team spirit to the field.

We cheered each other on through some classic favorites:

• The Egg & Spoon Race: Total concentration (and only a few dropped eggs!).

• The Great Sack Race: Lots of big bounces, hilarious tumbles, and tons of laughter.

• Hoop & Cone Games: Showcasing some amazing balancing and weaving skills.
