Autumn Report

Autumn Report 2019

Throughout the Autumn Term, the school council participated in several different activities including:

Elections

We started off the year with some Year 6 pupils presenting a speech/PowerPoint to the Key Stage Two members of Bare Trees and Year 2. Each student voted for their favourite presentation and who would make a good school council representative. Raheem, Sameerah, Teresa and Diyana got the most votes and won the election.

Planning Clubs

The school council have been having meetings and we have been discussing what club the pupils may want. These were: gymnastics (which is starting at the beginning of the spring term 1); drama club, photography club, gardening club, DT club and many more thrilling clubs. As a result, there are a lot of new clubs starting for pupils across the school.

Remembrance Day

All the Year 6 school council representative sold poppies all around the school. We were also selling wristbands. We raised a healthy amount of money for the Royal British Legion charity.

Class Ideas

One idea was to have ‘Bare Trees pets’ this is happening in the forest school room. Their homes have been built and we are awaiting their arrival. Some other class ideas were leavers hoodies, a strawberry patch and a sunflower growing competition. The school council representatives discussed these ideas and debated on which ones are possible and those that are not. We will let the school know those we are going forward with.

Winter raffle

The winter raffle was held on the 12th December. Raheem, Sameerah, Teresa and Diyana promoted the winter raffle and helped make the draw. Each ticket was £1 along with the opportunity to come to school for the day in non-uniform. Different toyshops/companies donated a variety of fantastic prizes for this spectacular event. Altogether £675.18 was raised well done and thank you to everyone who bought tickets.

The Autumn term has seen a plethora of events. The school council is looking forward to many opportunities to come in the Spring Term. Watch out because our Spring report will be coming soon…
