Quarry Bank Mill
On Friday 7th December 2018, year 6 visited Quarry Bank Mill.
Pupils learned how Samuel Greg established the cotton mill on the river Bollin, using the water to power the machines. We explored the mill, with a demonstration of the machines, and looked at what workers would have had to wear.
We experienced what it would have been like to be an apprentice, working and living at Quarry Bank.
Pupils linked this experience with our text, Street Child. Everyone had a fantastic day!
