Our topic this half term is ‘You Choose’ based on the book by Nick Sharratt. The children have been looking carefully at the pictures in the book to see what they would like to choose. We have also been talking a lot about the children choosing what they would like to learn about over the next few weeks, some of their ideas included Superheros, Princesses, Space, Dinosaurs and Transport. So, over the next few weeks we will be spending time learning about these topics.
We have been doing lots of work to get ourselves ready for going to Reception. The children have been working hard to practise writing their name. We have even got a new name writing area in our classroom, when bringing your children to Nursery we are encouraging them to get a whiteboard and pen to practise their name when they have taken it off the board. You are welcome to sit and help them do this!
The children have loved learning about Superhero’s. We started by talking about the Superhero’s that we already know, thinking about what they wear, the superpowers they have and what superhero’s do. We then decided that we wanted to be become superheros. The children created their own superhero masks, costumes and talked about what powers they wanted to have.
