Welcome to Year six

The staff in Year 6 are:

Miss Cooke, Mrs Shah, Miss Grattidge, Mrs E. Ali, Mrs Aziz, Mrs Eastham, Mrs Doherty, Mrs Killan, Miss Nahar, Mrs Akhter, Mrs Khanom and Mr Doig.

P.E.

PE will take place every Thursday. Please come dressed in your P.E. kit and pumps or trainers.

Additionally, each class will go swimming for a term each and children will require a swimming kit to do so. More information will be given out to each class when it is their turn.

Reading

Please make sure your child has their reading book and reading record in school every day, as reading days can vary from week to week.  It is suggested that children read everyday - this can be their school reading book or any book of their choice. Please record any comments in your child's reading record.

Homework

This will be set on a weekly basis. 

Maths and English: Children will be given Maths and English homework on a Thursday to be completed and handed in by the following Monday.

Spellings: Children will be given spellings homework on a Friday to be completed, practised and handed in by the following Friday.

Children should also be reading at home, practising their times tables on Times Tables Rock Stars and practising their spellings on spellings shed. Children should also regularly check google classroom for any messages or learning.

Applying for a Secondary School Place

Applications are now open for secondary school places for 2025-2026.  As parents/guardians, you are required to complete the online application form on the Oldham Council website (see link below). 

Please note that applications are completed online and they must be completed by 5pm on 31st October
