Earth Day
This year, to celebrate Earth Day (on the 22nd April) we wanted to plant a fruit tree to support the Earth Day campaign to plant 7.8 billion trees worldwide by 2020. We organised a competition to promote Earth Day by creating a poster or information leaflet to highlight the importance of trees and sustainability, which is linked to children's learning in geography.
The winners were Romona (Year 6), Zubaida (Year 5), Sameerah and Raheem (Year 3). The winners received a prize and planted the tree in the school grounds with Mr Wild and Mrs Burns.
