Week 1

This week in Butternut, we have been learning all about the story 'How to Catch a Star' by Oliver Jeffers. We have explored how astronauts live, looking at the different features of space.

In Butternut, we have also had some really exciting changes, including our new sensory room. The sensory room has a range of resources for us to use including: a TouchWall; Moodlight; Mirror Corner; Projector Screen; Bubble Tube; and Disco Lights. We have had lots of fun this week exploring the new area of our provision!

Week 2

This week, we have been learning all about The Colour Monster. The Colour Monster is a story that teaches us about the different emotions through colour. We have explored the story through sequencing, using the colours in our Let's Create sessions and even singing our Colour Monster song! 

Week 3

In Butternut this week, we have continued learning all about The Colour Monster. We have explored the different emotions this week, thinking about our feelings such as happiness, sadness, fear, calm, confused, loved and anger. In Butternut, we use our emotions corner, which helps us to understand the emotions and have enjoyed linking this to our story this week. 

Week 4

This week we have been learning all about the story 'The Three Little Pigs'. We have played Stuck in the Mud and we have been doing some brilliant chalk designs outside. We are learning this story for another week and we are excited to see what we will get up to!

Week 5

This week, we have continued focusing on the Three Little Pigs. We have learnt the story, story mapped the story and have even been learning The Three Little Pigs as a song. In Maths, we have been Junk Modelling and building the houses for the Three Little Pigs to live in.
