As part of our Geography topic 'Our Local Area' and our Science topic 'Seasons' the children enjoyed their trip to Tesco in Chadderton. As we walked to Tesco we saw how Autumn had changed our local area. We got to admire and kick the autumnal leaves and witnessed the leaves falling from the trees in the wind. The children got to see the local houses and local buildings including Chadderton Community church, the Oldham Central mosque and the different types of houses such as terraced and semi-detached. Once at Tesco the children enjoyed an Autumn trail within the store finding different fruit and vegetables including identifying where they came from. We even went behind the scenes in the bakery and got to see how bread is made daily and we had a taste of freshly baked brown and white bread. To complete our trip we talked about seasonal fruit and vegetables and got to taste different pickles and chutneys.
