What to do:

Today we are thinking about 2d shapes.

Activity: 

Using the 2d shape mat in your home learning packs, can you name them all? Then go on a shape hunt around your house and find something that is a circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval and star shaped.

How to do it:

Once you have found the object draw the object in your home learning book and colour them in, e.g. draw a clock for the circle shape. 

If your child finds that tricky:

Take a photograph of what you find and discuss the shape.

Challenge:

Can you say how many sides and corners the things you have found have and label them on your picture? Try and use words like curved, straight, corner.
