Activity: focus sound today is p

How to do it: Say the sound p and say down the pirates' plait and around his face. Children practise writing this sound. Fred talk these words

p-u-t

Spelling: The children can have a go at writing the words. Say the word pot.  Ask how many sounds in that word, hold up your fred fingers. Say the word pot and pinch the sounds on your fingers. Children have a go at writing that word down. Repeat process for words with p in.

If you find it tricky:  Model the writing process first.

Challenge: Spell words like pest, pick, pull.
