RWI Phonics lessons

 

Start off with Speed Sound lessons every day using the link below.

Films will show at the times below and be available for 24 hours.

 

  • Set 1 Speed Sounds at 9.30 am
  • Set 2 Speed Sounds at 10.00 am
  • Set 3 Speed Sounds at 10.30 am

Reading 

 

Re-read The Farm and discuss the definitions of the key vocabulary. 

Choose a word, roll the dice and follow the instructions below. 

  1. Draw it

  2. Write a synonym

  3. Spell it out 10 times

  4. Define the word

  5. Act it out

  6. Write it in a sentence

Remember to read a text of your choice each day this week.

Which text will you choose? A newspaper, magazine, adventure story or a non-fiction text maybe? 

Where will you read your text? In bed, sat comfortable in your favourite seat or in your garden? 

Writing 

 

Read a book of your choice from Oxford Owl (See link below).

After reading, extend the story by writing about what could happen next.

 

Challenge: 

Use the following within your story: 

  • Capital letters

  • Full stops

  • Finger spaces

  • Conjunctions (and, but, because, so, that, if, when)

  • Noun phrases (fast, fearless bird)

  • Suffixes (fearful, bravely, amazement, sadness, hopeless)

  • Prepositions 

  • Questions

  • Exclamation sentences

Task

 

Practise writing numbers in words and spelling them correctly. 

For example 53 - fifty three. 

 

Challenge 1 - one digit numbers (2 - two)

 

Challenge 2 - two digit numbers (15 - fifteen)

 

Challenge 3 - three digit numbers (109 - one hundred and nine)
