Fire Station Visit
This term we are learning about The Great Fire of London. One of the facts we have learnt is that in London in 1666 they did not have any Fire Fighters. The Year 2 teachers decided that we would visit Chadderton Fire Station to learn about about how The Great Fire created fire fighters and how the Fire Service is used today.
We had a lovely visit and we learnt lots about the Fire Service. The Fire Fighter who we spoke to was from London and he knew lots of facts about the fire in 1666.
One of the main things that the Fire Fighters told us was that all our houses should have smoke alarms and that we should check them regularly to ensure they are working. If you need a smoke alarm please ring 0800 555 815 and book a Safe and Well visit where the Fire Service will come to you.
