Summer 1
Week 6
Year 5 have enjoyed learning all about Mexico's famous 'Dia de los Meurtos' (Day of the Dead) for our 'Culture Fest'. We even had the chance to create our own 'ofrenda' (altar), complete with marigolds, papel picado and paper skulls!
Week 5
This Thursday, Year 5 have been putting their sewing skills to the test by making their own cushions out of up-cycled clothing. All of the children showed excellent resilience and persistence, reaping the rewards in some fantastic finished products of all shapes and sizes. Just look at the smiles on those faces!
Week 4
Year 5 pupils have thoroughly enjoyed learning to play the recorder to this term's song 'Dancing in the Street'. Captured in these snapshots, our pupils immersed themselves in the melody, each note echoing their enthusiasm and joy for music.
Week 3:
Year 5 have begun learning all about properties of shape and angles. Why not test your child's knowledge of angles using the picture below?
Week 2:
Year 5 enjoyed using the VR headsets to explore the enquiry question: 'Why were the Vikings a threat from the sea?'
Week 1
We have been text mapping our new model text in English, 'Meet the Magnificent Rhiswanozebtah - A Creature of Wonder', as we prepare to write a non-chronological report this half term. The children have been enjoying it a lot already!
