Week 1

This term, we are learning all about 'Transport' starting with the story, 'Dig Dig Digging'. We have spent the week enjoying the story, playing with diggers and even having our very own car track to play on the bikes with. We are looking forward to learning about all the different ways that we can travel. 

Week 2

This week, we have been learning the story of 'Naughty Bus' where a bus travels around the household. We have sang the story, retold the story and even watched it. As we are learning about transport, we have been working hard to understand the safety of the road and using traffic light colours to make and create our learning.

Week 3

This week, we have been learning all about trains. We have had a train track set up within Butternut to explore how a train travels through tunnel and how it moves quickly on the train tracks. Our story 'The Train Ride' has allowed us to understand the journey of the train and things that we could see when travelling using public transport. 

Week 4

This week in Butternut, we have been learning all about different types of vehicles using our role play construction area. Throughout the week, we have created collages of buses using fine motor skills in our Art lessons and have enjoyed using different areas of the provision to explore the story 'We Catch the Bus'. This has involved exploring animals within the story as well as the transport that they use and what they see when on the bus.
