Week 1

This week, we have been introduced to the story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. We got to go on some exciting adventures including going on our very own bear hunt at Forest School. We spent time travelling through the playground, role playing the story and this helped us to become experts on the story!

Week 2

This week, we have been very lucky because our story came to life when we got to experience the 'swirling, whirling snowstorm' and take a ride on the sledges at play time with our Key Workers. We really enjoyed this and even made some new friends!

Week 3

Birdwatch 2024 came to Bare Trees this week and Butternut class got to pay a visit. We enjoyed seeing the birds and taking part in all the fun activities our teachers had planned for us, including looking out for the birds on the playground! We even used the Birdwatch and Piet Mondrian's inspiration to create collages of birds as a piece of amazing art work!

Week 4

This week in Butternut, we have been reading the story Dear Zoo! Children have enjoyed retelling the story, singing 'We're Going to the Zoo' and exploring the different animals in the story. 

Week 5

This week, we have continued exploring the story Dear Zoo! The children have really enjoyed the story. In our Let's Create lesson, we made our very own animal masks to take home! In our Forest School experience, we searched for the animals and managed to find them all! We even saw a real life frog!

Week 6

In Butternut Class, we started a new story called 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?' We made a great story map of the story and this helped us to role play it!
