Task One

Literacy

30 Minutes

What to do:

Watch the story Jasper's Beanstalk, this is the story we have been thinking about the last few weeks in school.

Jasper's Beanstalk - Nick Butterworth and Mick Inkpen

Jasper is a cat. He finds a bean. He tries to get a beanstalk, but it's not easy. Let's see what happens

Activity:

Draw a picture of what you think Jasper might find at the top of his beanstalk. Then write a sentence to describe what you think he might see.

How to do it:

Use your blue home learning book to draw the picture. Remember to use capital letters, full stops and finger spaces when writing your sentence.

If your child finds that tricky:

You could write the sentence with your child and ask them to finish the sentence.

Challenge:

Ask children to think about if they could change their sentence using describing words or add words. E.g they may write 'a big house'. Could they change 'big' to 'gigantic/marvellous house'.
