Walk to School Year
Bare Trees Primary School are taking part in WOW - a year round walk to school challenge.
A generation ago, 70% of us walked to school – now it’s less than half. We want to reverse this decline. We want children to be energised and empowered, and to make walking to school their natural choice. And we need your help.
Every morning pupils will use the travel checker website to record how they came to school. Pupils who walk to school at least 3 times a week or 12 times a month will be rewarded with a monthly badge (made from recycled yogurt pots). Pupils who 'park and stride' or 'hop off' will also be rewarded for being active for part of their journey.
In addition, the class which walks to school the most each month will be presented with a certificate.
There are lots of prizes to be won, including badges that change each term.
We hope you can support school and walk as much as you can!
