This year on the Thursday 21st September we celebrated the International Day Of Peace for the second year at Bare Trees Primary School. The day started off with a visit from The Worshipful the Mayor Of Oldham Javid Iqbal, who was accompanied by Maria Ellis from the Oldham Peace Group.

The mayor talked to us a little bit about himself and what peace meant to him and Maria read us a story from her favourite peaceful story ‘The Pot With The Hole.’ At the end of our assembly the mayor awarded certificates to our Bare Trees Peace Promoters.

The day continued with lots of wonderful artwork and many peaceful, mindful activities in each of our year groups.
