Week 1 

This term in Butternut, our topic will be Nursery Rhymes and this week we are exploring 5 Currant Buns. This will be allowing us to work on our number skills and understand how to pass money over when we go to our very own 'Baker's Shop' in the classroom.

The story focus this week is We're Going on a Bear Hunt. This week we are learning the story through small world scenes and the different areas of provision. We are excited to keep learning more about the story over the next coming weeks.

Week 2

This week in Butternut, the children have continued exploring the story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. The children have been sequencing the story and exploring the different parts of the story through our amazing continuous provision. The children's afternoon focus has been '5 Little Men in a Flying Saucer' and we made some sandwiches for the children to send up in the rocket for the men to have for their lunch. 

Week 3

This week in Butternut, we have started a brand-new topic focusing on Our Favourite Stories. The story this week is Jasper's Beanstalk, therefor we have been learning all about digging, planting and watering plants to make a beanstalk. We have spent time completing different creative activities and practicing our fine motor skills using paint brushes and colouring pencils. You can even see some of our good work on our working wall when you enter Butternut.
