Activity: Read the story The Fishing trip and complete the activities.

How to do it: 

Click on the blue arrows to turn the pages of the book 

Ask your children to read the story. 

Read the story a second time this time as you read, click the pencil icon on page 7 and complete the activity. Continue to read, click the pencil icon on page 11, complete the activity.

Use the pictures on page 12 to retell the story.

If you find it tricky: 

Ask your child to talk about the pictures. Read the story together.

• What is Ant and his Dad doing?
• What does Dad catch?
• What does Ant catch?
• Why does Ant put the fish back into the stream? 

Use the pictures on page 12 to retell the story.

Challenge: 

Can you extend and improve the sentences in the story? 

For example, 'Dad sits', becomes 'Dad sits on an orange chair next to the river.'
