This half-term we will be setting into our new classrooms and exploring the different environments. Our topic for this half term is Marvelous Me. We will be learning all about ourselves and linking our learning to lots of books. 

Week 1: 

For the first 3 days back to school we have been looking at the book 'All Are Welcome"

We have linked this to our learning how we are "All Welcome at Bare Trees" 

We have created self portraits using paper plates and an all about me house.

This will go on our display where we celebrate our nationalities. 

Week 2: 

This week we have been exploring our new classrooms and different parts of the school.

We have read the story of "Pete the Cat: Rocking in My School Shoes".

We then went around to the same places as Pete and rocked out in our school shoes. 

Week 3:

This week we are reading the book "Super Duper You by Sophie Hann. This book celebrates all the reasons we are special. We linked our learning to superheroes and their special powers. 

Week 4:

This week we have been reading the book 'The Colour Monster'. This book is all about a monster who needs to sort out his mixed up feelings and what they mean. We have been completed lots of activities about colours and our feelings. 

Week 5:

This week we have been looking at The Colour Monster Goes To School, we have sorted feelings (pom poms) to the correct Colour Monsters. We planned our pizza faces and what we wanted to put on them. We also looked at what the colour monster needed to take to school in his bag.
