Summer 2

Week 2

This week, Year 2 enjoyed an exciting trip to Formby Beach. We had a fantastic time playing on the sand—throwing frisbees, kicking footballs, and building sandcastles, to name just a few of our activities. Afterwards, we completed our Geography fieldwork project, which involved identifying and listing the human features in and around the beach. We then ate our lunch on the beach, whilst enjoying the fresh sea air.

In the afternoon, we followed the Squirrel Trail, which led us into the beautiful Formby Pine Woods. Although we didn’t spot any red squirrels, we discovered plenty of fascinating minibeasts, including ladybirds and caterpillars, thriving in their microhabitats.

Week 1

Have a lovely Eid and Friday off school to celebrate!

Week 1.

This half term, Year 2 are exploring the topic: "What is it like to live by the coast?"
To kick off our learning, we set a special homework task over half term, which was to create, design, or write something inspired by the coast to share with the each other during the first week back.

We were absolutely blown away by everyone’s creativity and effort!
Here is a selection of some of the fantastic work that our classes produced.
