Spring 1

10.2.25

This week Year 4 have been immersed in all things Roman with a visit from The History Workshop. We had to listen carefully to our Centurion as he taught us some Latin and explained what life was like in the Roman army as we were drilled in battle techniques. We learned how to play ancient Roman games, we practised writing like a scribe onto papyrus and we pretended to be archaeologists by digging up real artefacts. We all had an amazing day.

7.2.25

Year 4 have been creating rainforest collages in the style of the artist Megan Coyle. We thought about shape, texture and emotion as we worked.

27.1.25

This week we have been busy designing bug hotels for a school competition. The winner will see their creation built on the school grounds. How exciting!

20.1.25

This week, we were so fortunate to welcome Oldham Theatre Workshop to Bare Trees. We watched a fantastic performance of 'The Toymaker' and some of us also attended a theatre workshop. What a wonderful way to begin our week!

17.1.25

In our Art lesson this week we created a background by using tint and shade. We used Van Gogh's 'Starry Night' as our inspiration.

7.1.25

This week in year 4 we have been honing our drama skills by acting out our new text 'Zelda Claw and the Rain cat.' What a fantastic and fun start to our new term!
