Spring 2

Week 6

Children in Year 2 have been busy over the last few weeks at home and in school, creating posters for the theme 'Change and adapt' for this years British Science Week competition. Have a look at their wonderful work.

Week 5

Over the course of this half term the children in Year 2 have been focusing on a 'losing tale' in English. The children have worked extremely hard this week to write their own innovated versions of a losing tale, they have come up with their own character names and creatures.

We are looking forward to welcoming all parents and carers on Wednesday 2nd April into school for Parents Evening, please do have a look at your child's English books to see the stories they have written, they are very proud.

Week 4

For British Science week this week the children in Year 2 looked at different animal feet and explained how this helps them to live in their environment. Have a look at some of our work.

Week 3

All the children in Year 2 have been practicing a poem called 'Crazy Mayonnaisy Mum' - the children are really excited to perform this poem for our KS1 performance which will take place on Wednesday 19th March at 2.35pm. Parents are also invited, we are looking forward to seeing you there!

Week 2

We celebrated 'International Mother Language Day'. It was lovely to see the parents come into Year 2 during parents morning and teach the class words in different languages including (Bangla, Urdu, Arabic and German!). The children had a fantastic day learning different languages and seeing all the different languages spoken within our own classrooms. We even had some visitors from our young interpreters within school. Have a look at some of our photos from our day.

Week 1

What a fantastic start to the second half of the Spring term. Over the holidays the children in Year 2 were given a homework task about 'Why is our world wonderful'? We will be focusing on this topic for Geography this half term, have a look at the fantastic work created, the children have worked extremely hard, thank you parents!
