Me and My World

Week 1

This week, we welcomed the children back to school and spent some time getting to know each other. We had lots of circle time sharing all of our favourite things and we explored our new classroom. It was lovely making new friends getting to know our new teachers.

Week 2

This week, we have been exploring our wonderful outdoor area. We have been learning about what different areas of provision we have outside, such as the sand area, water area, construction, bikes and muddy kitchen. It has been a fun week in Reception.

Week 3

This week, we have been learning all about repeating patterns in Maths. We have learned what a pattern is, how to continue a repeating pattern and spotting and correcting errors in patterns. In topic, we have been exploring how we have changed over time. We shared our baby pictures and played a game of 'Guess Who', some of our teachers even shared their baby pictures too! We have enjoyed looking at how we are different now that we are bigger and what we needed when we were babies.

Week 4

This week in English, we have been learning all about the story 'The Colour Monster goes to School'. We are working hard to sequence the story and put the Colour Monster's school timetable in the correct order. This week in Topic, we have been thinking all about our families. The children have shared who lives in their house and we have talked about how all families are different.
