Welcome To

Bare Trees Primary School

Welcome to Year 1

It is great to see the children back in school and we are already busy learning.

PE KITS

In Year 1 all children need a PE kit, which consists of a plain white t-shirt, black, navy blue or grey shorts, dark coloured tracksuit bottoms, dark coloured sweatshirt, socks, and slip on black pumps.
This kit all needs to be in a bag with your child's name on and placed on their pegs. As it is a new year, please check your child's PE kit still fits.

Example of PE Kit

School Dinners

All children aged 5-7 are now entitled to a free school meal in school and the children are really enjoying the choices on offer. If you would like to know what your child is eating, you will find a menu in the classroom windows.

Wallets

In Year 1 all children have a homework folder in their wallets. Homework will be given to all children every Friday. Please complete this homework with your child and return it to school in their wallets every Monday.

Just like in Reception, you will find a Reading Record and a reading book inside your child's wallet. Please listen to your child read their story, allowing your child to sound out and read any words he/she can, and write a comment in their yellow Reading Record so the teacher knows how much they enjoyed the story. These books are changed weekly when a comment has been left.

The children have settled in well and we are looking forward to a very busy and fun half term with the children.
