Reception

Welcome to Reception!

During their time in Reception, children will learn to become independent, resilient learners in a fun and exciting environment. Children will have the opportunity to explore both the indoor and outdoor environments, whilst building secure and happy friendships.

As parents/guardians, you are always welcome in school. Please do not hesitate to speak to your child’s class teacher if you have any questions or concerns. We host regular workshops and open sessions for parents and guardians and we look forward to seeing you there.

Have you seen the Kids' Zone? Play games and visit some cool websites. You can vote for your favourites!

The Reception Learning Landscape

A learning landscape that is open ended and offers children possibilities to follow their own pathways. The benefits of learning outside the classroom are endless. Being outside allows children to express themselves freely and unlike an indoor classroom, there aren’t any space constraints meaning children can jump, shout and explore to their hearts content. The sense of freedom playing outdoors brings is fantastic for a child’s development, both physically and mentally.

Reception 19/20

Dear Children,

I just wanted to send you a little message to check that you and your families are all safe and well and hopefully enjoying some of the sunshine we have been having. Remember, we are here to help you and your families in any way. You can telephone school or email us if you need any help or support.

I want to say well done for completing the work your teachers have set for you, you are all working so hard, keep going! We miss you and hopefully school will be back open as soon as the government tells us it is safe to do so.

Take care and stay safe

Miss Oldham

If you have a child in Year 6, Year 1 or Reception please make sure you have had contact with school to discuss the potential of your child starting back at school under the new Government Guidelines in June.

Daily School Closure Tasks

The Reception teachers will add the tasks one day at a time.
