Bare Trees Primary School

First half of Autumn

The children have settled in well and we have enjoyed a very busy and fun half term.

At the start of the year the children were given the opportunity to explore their new classrooms and make new friendships.

In the first couple of weeks, the children were introduced to the Characteristics of Effective Learning. These reflect how a child learns rather than what they are learning. The Characteristics of Effective Learning are divided into three sections;

  • Playing and Exploring - children investigate and experience things and "have a go".
  • Active learning - children concentrate and keep on trying if they encounter difficulties and enjoy their achievements.
  • Creativity and thinking critically - children develop their own ideas and make links between ideas. They develop strategies for doing things.

Please observe these at home and let your child’s teacher know of the amazing things that you have seen your child do. All staff would love contributions from home to be added to your child’s learning journey.
