Spring 1- Terrific Tales

To kick off our new theme Terrific Tales we read Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The children adored this book. We decided to find out the best way to eat porridge to inform Goldilocks. Below you can see us testing the porridge.

This half term we have loved looking at Traditional Tales. We love to read.

We started to look at recipe writing because Goldilocks wanted a recipe of the porridge we made. So we started to compose a recipe to share with Goldilocks. At first we wrote the equipment we needed. Look at our fantastic writing.

We worked towards writing an entire recipe together. We used the success criteria to make sure we wrote a successful recipe for Goldilocks.

The children loved learning a new song and using the claves to experiment making loud and quiet noises. Listen to the song below:

The children explored textures to make The Three Little Pigs a house that wouldn't be able to fall down.

The children loved the story of Three Billy Goats Gruff, as soon as we came outside they were busy building their own bridge. It was super team work and the children were taking care not to fall.

We continued with the book The Three Billy Goats Gruff and looked at speech bubbles. Here we are having a go at writing a speech bubble together.

We then moved onto the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. The children had a challenge to help Jack get down the beanstalk. The children came up with the idea of making him a slide. Here they are building the slides as a team.
