Our walk around Chadderton
As part of our Year 1 Geography topic, ‘Our Local Area’, the children are learning all about Chadderton. During our Geography lessons all children have learnt the address of school and the address of their home. Our next step was to investigate the local area further. We decided to take the children on a walk around Chadderton to gain first-hand experience. All children enjoyed their walk around Chadderton and represented Bare Trees Primary School to the best of their ability.
On our walk we saw different types of houses, including some of the children’s houses and family. We walked past local shops, factories, the local church and points of interest such as the Doctors, Chadderton Wellbeing Centre and the Opticians.
The children returned to school to carry on their learning of Chadderton by drawing and labelling a map. Please look through the photos of our walk.
