Task One

Literacy

30 Minutes

What to do:

Attempt to write a sentence

Activity:

Fill in the first week of the sunflower diary.

How to do it:

Use the sunflower diary in your home learning pack. Fill in the first week. What has happened to the sunflower seed? Look at the sunflowers. An example of a sentence is: The sunflower is starting to shoot.

If your child finds that tricky:

Draw a picture of the sunflower at the moment. Then label the different parts e.g small stem, seed. Focus on the initial sounds and move onto writing all the sounds in a word.

Challenge:

Use the language of retelling e.g first, next, then. First it shoot out of the soil. Next the seeds dropped off. Then it grew leaves.
