Secret Garden

We have had a great start to our 'Secret Garden' topic this half term. The children have been busy writing instructions on how to grow a plant, we have looked at things around us in our local area such as Asda,  the Well-Being Centre, Fire station and local houses.  We also had a great opportunity to go to 'Forest School' with Mr.Wild and learn facts about trees.  We did some tree hugging and tree rubbing using crayons. We have also learnt about the 'Platt brothers' during History finding out what they did in Oldham many years ago. We have also looked at the life cycle of a butterfly. We have got our very own caterpillars in eaah of the year one classrooms and we are waiting patiently for them to turn into butterflies.  Do have a look at out great work!
