Activity: Make your own subtraction number sentences.

How to do it: Create your own subtraction number sentences for your adult or a family member to answer. Only use numbers up to 20. Remember to check their answers to make sure they are correct.

If you find it tricky: Use numbers up to 10. Ask your child to tell you a subtraction number sentence and support your child to write it down.  Tell your child the answer and ask them to use objects to check if your answer is correct. Repeat with different questions.

Challenge:

Create a mixture of addition and subtraction number sentences for your adult or a family member to answer.

Only use numbers up to 20. Remember to check their answers to make sure they are correct.
