Literacy

Today we are continuing with our book The Worrysaurus.

If you cannot remember the story, it would be good for you to rewatch the story.

The Worrysaurus

Task 1

Yesterday, we found 4 things we like to have when we are scared.

Today I would like you to draw one of your objects so we can show The Worrysaurus and help him stop being worried about starting school.

Once your child has drawn their object, please ask them to describe the picture to you.

Please ask you child these questions:

What have you drawn?

Why have you chosen that?

What colour is it?

How big is it?

Who could The Worrysaurus use this with?

Task 2

Once you have drawn your picture, I would like you to attempt to label your picture by using initial sounds, for example writing 't' for Teddy.

What sound can you hear at the start?

Don't worry if you are finding it tricky as your adult can help you by sounding out the first sound i.e. t,t,t, teddy. They can also help you with writing the sound by showing you first.

Challenge

In your house can you find anything else that starts with the same letter as your object?
