Films will show at the times below and be available for 24 hours.

Ready For Reading

 

Read 'The Waiting Room' and answer the questions. 

Writing 

Today we will focus on the spelling of Year 2 Common Exception Words. 

 

Challenge 1 - Read all of the common exception words. 

Use the flashcards or poster. 

 

Challenge 2 - log onto Purple mash to see your 2Do task which will help you practise these spellings. 

 

Challenge 3 - Choose 10 of the common exception words. Write these words into a sentence. Can you use different sentence types as an extra challenge. 

Eg.

How are the children today? (question)

Close the door quietly. (command)

The flowers are beautiful colours. (statement)

What a kind boy he is! (exclamation)

Mathematics 

 

Starter 

Practise doubling and halving numbers using Hit the Button. 

Challenge 1 

Practise telling the time to o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to the hour. 

Challenge 2 

Practise telling the time to five minute intervals. 

Challenge 3 

Practise comparing durations of time.

Science 

Follow the powerpoint for information about different habitats all around the world.

 

Challenge 

Can you create your very own habitat scene using craft materials you can find in your house. 

 

You may want to create your scene in a shoe box or a cereal box. You could make your own animals, trees, plants, water, sand using materials you find in your house. Be creative. 

 

When completed please send a picture of your habitat scene to your teachers using this email address.
