Autumn 2

Autumn 2

During this half term, the children will learn all about 'How do Christians celebrate Christmas around the world?'.

They will:

-Identify and explain the core beliefs of Christmas based on Bible texts.

-Describe examples of ways in which people use texts/sources of wisdom to make sense of Christmas festivities.

-Give varied meanings for the Christmas bible stories.

-Make clear connections between what Christians believe about Jesus and how they remember and celebrate his birth.

-Consider and weigh up how ideas about Christmas relate to their own experiences of ‘big days’ that come round once a year and express insights of their own into the value of celebration.

R.E. Skills:  Reflect, Empathise, Discern.
