Pupils are expected to complete 30 minutes per day of mathematics activities. We would like pupils to focus on practising multiplication and division facts. Pupils have access to Times Tables Rock Stars, and are familiar with using the app in school. Help with logging in is available on the website in the below links section.
TT Rockstars - available for use through google chrome's browser or as an app for Apple and Android devices. Login information is available from teachers, and passwords can be retrieved at home by using pupils' email accounts if passwords are forgotten.
Hit the button - interactive game for multiplication tables and division facts fluency. Works best on touch screen devices but works within google chrome on all devices.
Pupils are expected to learn ten spellings per week from the national curriculum spelling lists. Teachers group these words according to word families and spelling patterns. The lists will be posted on google classroom for pupils to learn.
Each week, pupils are expected to write a sentence using each of their ten spelling words. Using the spelling lists posted on Google classroom, pupils should research the meaning of each word if necessary and write a sentence featuring the word. This will double as spelling and handwriting practice.
This term, pupils are learning about the Americas, with a particular focus on Mexico. This is a combination of History and Geography, and will help them to develop their skills in both subjects. We encourage pupils to research this topic using the internet, and they may present their findings in any way they wish. Some suggestions would be posters, books, powerpoint presentations or videos.
Discovery Education - this website offers a bank of resources across the curriculum. The username and password required to login will be shared on Google classroom.
Pupils are encouraged to access Duolingo to access Spanish vocabulary learning.
Duolingo - a language learning app available on apple and android devices. The free version of the app allows unlimited access to language learning courses, but an adult must sign up for an account giving their consent for their child to use it. There is no expectation of pupils to subscribe to the premium version of the app.
