On Friday 18th May 2018 the pupils at Bare Trees were assigned a very important task. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle came running in to our assembly to tell us that their wedding had been cancelled! Their wedding co-ordinator had left the country and they needed our help to ensure the wedding could go ahead. Our two Royal Spokesmen, Fardin and Faheem, employed all 640 pupils and assigned each year group a task. Each year group assigned one child as the role of Year Group Wedding Coordinator and they had to report back to the Royal Spokesmen at 2.30pm to feedback whether the wedding could go ahead as planned.
The tasks were as follows:
Nursery - Design and make the wedding cakes
Reception - Host a wedding rehearsal
Year 1 - Design and make the wedding dress, veil and suit
Year 2 - Design and make the castle for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to live in
Year 3 - Carry out research into the Royal Family Tree and send invites to appropriate people
Year 4 - Route out the procession as the carriage driver is not familiar with London
Year 5 - Plan and produce recorded newspaper reports ensuring everyone knows about the special event
Year 6 - Design and create 3D artwork of key London landmarks so the carriage driver knows he is going the correct way.
The pupils in every year group definitely rose to the occasion and we are proud to announce the wedding can go ahead - phew!
The pupils celebrated by having parties where they enjoyed crown biscuits made especially by the wonderful kitchen staff at Bare Trees.
Bare Trees would like to wish Prince Harry and Meghan Markle all the best for their wedding day
