We thought we would focus on sharing our favourite resources linked to 4 key components of maintaining a healthy lifestyle; Sleep, Routines, Nutrition & Physical Exercise. The attached document ‘Healthy Lifestyles’ cover great resources relating to these subject areas for both adults and children.

‘Understanding behaviour as a communication and the link to mental health.’ We hope that the information will help parents to understand why children and young people may be portraying certain behaviours and provide practical ways to support. The resources provided are around change. We are currently finding ourselves in strange times where a lot of change is occurring. Change can be a major contributing factor to challenging behaviour. The theme tackles the issue of change and aims to equip children with an understanding of different types of change, positive and negative, and common human responses to it. The theme seeks to develop children’s ability to understand and manage the feelings associated with change. It aims to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in three key social and emotional aspects of learning: motivation, social skills and managing feelings.
‘Supporting Emotional Wellbeing'. The attached document will provide further information on how, as staff, you can look after your own wellbeing and also how you can look after children’s emotional wellbeing during this time. There is also guidance on how parents can support young people at home. We’d particularly like to draw your attention to the Catch it, Check it, Change it framework over the final pages. This is a fantastic way for children, parents and staff alike to see how their thoughts influence their wellbeing
