Children throughout school took the opportunity to dress as an endangered animal and vote for which endangered animals they would like school to adopt. This event was linked to the children's learning in Geography (sustainability, animals and their habitats and the environmental impact of humans).
Children really got into the spirit of the day and made a huge effort with their animal costumes and sponsorship contributions.
The votes are in and Bare Trees Primary School will adopt the following endangered animals through WWF:
Early Years Foundation Stage - Panda
Key Stage 1 - Tiger
Key Stage 2 - Snow Leopard
Well done, Bare Trees Primary School!
The International Day Of Peace
On Thursday 28th September Bare Trees Primary School celebrated The International Day of Peace. The children celebrated with many different activities. Reception Class and Year 1 enjoyed making peace doves whilst Year 2 wrote some acrostic poems.
The Juniors reflected on what Peace means to them and they also learned about the interesting life of Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
During the morning we also had very special visitor to Bare Trees – The Mayor ! He visited all our classrooms and the children enjoyed sharing their work with him. Then Miss Oldham and some members of our school community signed the Oldham Pledge For Peace.
